Dear Regional Director Endo-san,
It is my great pleasure to send my warmest greetings to you on the occasion of your Regional Convention. As you gather together, it is good take some time to reflect on all the things you have done to make the world better for those in need in the past year. I thank your current leadership team for all their efforts. You should also take the opportunity to look back on the wonderful fellowship that each of you have enjoyed and remember those Y’s Men and Women that are no longer part of the leadership team but have helped, or continue to help, shape its history. Likewise, this is the time to look forward to the future as you set goals and plans for the coming year, and inspire your members and clubs to work towards these goals collaboratively and enthusiastically. As International President 2018-19, I have chosen my theme as “Yes, We Can Change!” and my slogan as “Courage to Challenge!”. I believe that we can see great progress in our International Movement if we work collaboratively, starting right now, and focus on our core values:
• supporting the YMCA
• serving those in need in our communities
• helping others around the world through our international programs
I am confident that your Region will continue to grow and play a strong part in helping our Movement work towards our goal of service to others. I wish you a prosperous and successful new Y’s Men term.
